SourcePaddlers working the Sayward Forest canoe route have a stop here: a small picnic area at the water plus two sites for overnight camping, upgraded in 2021, in the Campbell River area.
Camping is first come, first served on gravel access, with a boat launch and fishing on Gosling Lake.
Duncan Bay and a Gas n Go are both about 17 km away, so the resupply is one trip. The Trout Creek Falls trail on Mohun Creek is roughly 7 km off, Higgens Lake is under a kilometre away, and Campbell River's 277 mountain bike trails are about 17 km.
