SourceLundbom Lake Recreation Site is a 102-unit campground in the grasslands outside Merritt, with a loyal following among anglers and riders of every kind. Horseback riding is part of the site's character, and approved trails in the surrounding hills carry mountain bikes and dirt bikes.
Sites are first come, first served on gravel access, $15 a night, and the fee is cash only, so hit a bank machine before you leave town. The lake fishes well and the open country makes for big skies.
The Lundbom Grasslands themselves start about 3 km away, with the Iron Mountain riding area about 9 km off. Nicola is the closest listed community at about 10 km.
