SourceRange cattle share this country, so the camping area at Harmon Lake was fenced and fitted with cattle guards in 2017. Inside it you get 32 sites, a boat launch with a 36 foot floating dock, and the lake 0.5 km away.
Sites are first come, first served at $15 a night on gravel, and payment is cash only.
The Harmon Lake interpretive trails start 0.6 km from camp, the Kane Valley ski parking area is 4.6 km, and the Iron Mountain bike trails are 9.3 km. Aspen Grove handles small errands at 6.9 km, but fuel is 16.1 km, so top up before you leave the highway.
