SourceMowhinna Creek Campground sits close to Ganges, on paved access, with the town doing the work for supplies. Ganges is about 2 km away and its gas station about 1.5 km, so you can arrive light and shop once you have a site.
Camping is paid, with the nightly rate not published, so check before you settle in. Lake Maxwell is about 4.2 km off for a swim or a paddle, and the Stoney Hill trailhead is about 8.9 km away when you want a longer walk.
Riders have further to go. The Cowichan network and its 149 trails start about 17 km from camp, which makes for a planned day out rather than a quick lap.
