About this site
SourceWallace Island Marine Park stretches along Trincomali Channel between the north ends of Salt Spring and Galiano, a skinny island of coves, beaches and offshore islets that boaters and kayakers know well. The paddling is sheltered, the day-trip distance from Vancouver Island reasonable, and the camping simple.
Walking trails run most of the island's length past folded rock formations, with swimming, fishing and wildlife the daily program: eagles and black-tailed deer ashore, seals, sea lions and river otters working the water.
Expect pit toilets and self-sufficiency. The nearest listed fuel is about 10 km at Ganges, so provision there or on Vancouver Island before setting out.
