About this site
SourceThe Town of Golden runs this campground, and the location does the heavy lifting: town and a Petro-Canada are both about 1.1 km away, so groceries and fuel barely count as a detour.
There are 72 sites on paved access, and it is a paid campground. The services list is unusually full for a municipal site: showers, wifi, power hookups, a dump station, potable water and pit toilets, with room for RVs.
Riding is the other reason to stay. Golden's 73-trail network begins about 1.5 km from the gate, with Moonraker about 4.3 km, the Mt 7 North Ridge about 5 km and Dawn Mountain about 7.9 km. Cedar Lake is roughly 4.5 km out.
