About this site

Source

Summit Lake Provincial Park is a small park with an outsized setting: 6 hectares in the Nakusp range of the Selkirks, on a clear mountain lake where rainbow and cutthroat rise and mountain goats watch from the rock above.

About 35 sites are listed, a mix of reservable and first come, first served, on paved access, with canoeing, swimming and a boat launch. Each year the park hosts a genuine spectacle, when thousands of toads leave the lake for the forest to hibernate.

The community of Summit Lake is 600 m away, but the nearest listed fuel is about 13 km, so top up around Nakusp. The Valhalla Hills nordic area sits about 8 km off.

Solid area, lots of great mountain biking nearby as well (both at Box Lake and Mt.Abriel).
