About this site

Source

Forested camping on the shore of Silverthorne Lake near Houston, with a sandy beach for swimming and an island out in the middle of the lake to paddle to. A picnic shelter with a wood stove and tables acts as the common room.

Nine sites, first come, first served, up a gravel road. Trails run from here into the wider Morice network, so you can ride or walk straight out of camp.

Supplies and fuel are both about 7 km off in Houston, which makes this an easy one to provision. The 21 trails around town start about 7 km from the site, and McKilligan Lake is about 11 km away.
