About this site
SourceOpen grass at the north end of Owen Lake, with a scattering of treed sites along the water, gives this one near Houston room to spread out. Nadina Mountain fills the view across the lake, and mountain goats turn up on it for anyone carrying binoculars.
There are 12 sites, first come, first served, on gravel access, and swimming is what most people do here. The open ground means a group can camp together instead of splitting across a loop.
The nearest gas is about 32 km away and Noralee about 26 km, so leave pavement with a full tank. Owen Hat is about 14 km from camp.
