SourceA wide open beach on the east shore of Kootenay Lake gives Garland Bay its character, with swimming, fishing and boating all off the same stretch of shore near Riondel.
The 26 sites are first come, first served at $15 a night on gravel access. Nothing in the Kootenay Boundary district can be booked ahead.
Kaslo is about 6 km away with an Esso about 5 km out, so a supply run is quick. The Kaslo Interpretive Forest is about 9 km off, Mirror Lake about 3 km, and the Woodbury trailhead about 15 km.
