About this site
SourceCamping wraps around Horseshoe Lake in partly treed ground near Cranbrook. Motorboats are not allowed, which keeps the water quiet for swimming and casting from shore.
Seventeen first come, first served sites spread around the lake, reached on gravel. Trail bikes and ATVs also use the area, so this suits people who do not mind engine noise more than those chasing silence.
Fort Steele is about 9.5 km away for supplies and the Centex fuel stop about 9 km out, close enough to run in for ice. Peckham's Lake sits roughly 4 km from camp, the Cranbrook Community Interpretive Forest about 15 km, and Cranbrook, with 149 mountain bike trails, about 19 km.
