About this site
SourceMackenzie Lakes is really two recreation sites, one on Mackenzie Lake West and one on Mackenzie Lake East, with the two small lakes joined by a stream. Both get stocked each year with Pennask strain rainbow trout, which is the reason to make the drive out of Prince George.
Six sites, first come, first served, on gravel, with a boat launch for putting a small boat on the water.
Punchaw is about 20 km away and the closest fuel, a Tempo, sits roughly 28 km off, so come with the tank full and the cooler loaded. Nelson Lake is about 5 km from camp and the Shesta picnic site about 9 km.
