About this site
SourceSmall, wild rainbow trout are the reason to come to Government Lake, and the water is a few hundred metres from camp.
The site is unimproved and holds one group, day use or overnight, first come, first served. A pit toilet and a car-top boat launch are the extent of the facilities, and getting in wants four-wheel drive.
Woodpecker is about 10 km away and the nearest pumps about 16 km, so get the fuel sorted on the way past. There is hiking from the site for days when the fish are not cooperating.
