SourceTwinkle Lake Recreation Site sits right on the shore of a small forested lake in the Houston area, with wildflowers through the open patches. Canoes and small boats go in from here, and there are several fish species in the lake for anglers.
There are 4 sites, first come, first served, on gravel access. The site is user maintained, so expect basic conditions and pack out what you bring. Hunters use it in the fall.
Supplies are a long way off. Noralee is about 46 km and the nearest fuel, a Co-op cardlock, is about 69 km. Come with a full tank and everything you need for the stay.
