About this site
SourceTwo mountain lakes, Whiteswan and Alces, anchor this Kootenay park, with campgrounds strung along the lakeshores and the river between them. Anglers come for the rainbow trout, and moose feed in the shallows at Alces Lake.
The park lists 114 campsites across five lakeside and riverside campgrounds, on gravel access. Three boat launches, pit toilets, potable water and fire pits cover the basics, with swimming, fishing, hiking and biking on top, and a historic trail follows the lakeshore.
Lussier Hot Springs sits near the park entrance at the 17.5 km marker on the Whiteswan forest service road, so a soak fits easily into the drive in or out. Wildhorse Warm Springs is about 6 km away and Lazy Lake about 5.5 km. Wasa is roughly 15 km off for groceries and fuel, so top up there before the gravel starts.
