About this site

Source

Garibaldi Lake sits in the Coast Mountains about 64 km north of Vancouver, under the 2,678 m summit of Mount Garibaldi. The lake is held in place by The Barrier, a lava dam roughly 9,000 years old, over 1.6 km wide and 300 m thick, which is why there is a lake here at all.

The campground runs on reservations. Pit toilets and potable water are on site, and the park carries more than 90 km of trails, with fishing, swimming and a boat launch besides. Access is paved.

Whistler Village is about 20.4 km away for supplies, and the nearest Co-op fuel about 17.5 km, so top up before you park. Lesser Garibaldi Lake is about 1.4 km off, Brohm Lake Day Use about 14.8 km, and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park about 20.1 km.
