About this site
SourceMain Lake Provincial Park on Quadra Island protects the largest freshwater waterway in the Gulf and Discovery Islands: a chain of six lakes linked by narrow channels, with limestone sinkholes, waterfalls, and marine and freshwater ecosystems almost touching. More than 72 bird species and 234 plant species live here, alongside wolves, cougars, owls, eagles, osprey, falcons and wintering swans.
This is wilderness camping reached by water, built around canoeing and kayaking the chain, with fishing, swimming and hiking in support. Facilities stay minimal: pit toilets, fire pits, a boat launch.
Granite Bay is about 8 km away, with the nearest listed fuel about 17 km, so provision in Quadra's villages or Campbell River first.
