About this site

Source

Saltwater is the point here. Elk Bay is one of only two developed recreation sites in the Sayward Forest with ocean access, and it comes in two parts: the main camping area with the boat launch, and a smaller two unit spot across the creek.

Nine sites in total, first come, first served, on gravel, and the site is user maintained, so pack out your garbage and leave the fire ring clean. You can swim and fish without moving the vehicle.

Granite Bay is about 9 km away, but fuel is roughly 26 km out, so fill up before the forest roads. The Trout Creek Falls trail on Mohun Creek is about 20 km away, and Campbell River, with 277 mountain bike trails, about 29 km.
