About this site
SourceJimsmith Lake Provincial Park is Cranbrook's local retreat, a 35-site campground in lakeside Douglas fir and larch about 6 km from the city. Rebuilt in 2001 to take RVs properly, it stays an easy place to land.
Sites are a mix of reservable and first come, first served on paved access, with the lake 500 m away. The water is kept for non-motorized boating, which suits the swimming and sunbathing crowd fine, and winter flips the park into a tobogganing and ice skating playground.
Fuel is about 5 km back toward Cranbrook, whose 149-trail riding network starts about 6 km from camp.
