SourceShade and a boat launch make Richy an easy family stop near the north end of Whatshan Lake, in the Nakusp area. The lake warms later in the season, and the swimming off the pea gravel shore is good then.
Five camping spots, first come, first served, reached on gravel. Fishing and boating are what the launch is there for.
East Arrow Park is about 12 km away and the fuel at Burton about 17 km, so plan the tank around that. The Arrow Slocan network, 75 trails, starts about 25 km from camp.
