About this site
SourceCopper Hut is a hut site in the Nelson area reached on a four-wheel drive road, with hiking as the reason to be up there. The Kootenay Mountaineering Club's page for the Copper Mountain cabin carries the current details, so check that before you build a trip around it.
Camping is first come, first served with room for two, and nothing else is on record here, so treat it as a self-supported trip.
Blewett is about 10 km away and an Esso about 12 km. Saddle Cabin is roughly 2 km off, Barrett Lake and its cabin about 5.5 km, and the South Slocan trailhead about 13 km. The Nelson and Kaslo trail network, 226 mountain bike trails, starts about 14 km away.
