SourceOld growth stumps are the odd feature at Sayres Lake. The site was rebuilt inside the Mission tree farm licence, and the huge western red cedar stumps left by historic logging still stand among the campsites.
The road in wants four wheel drive or good clearance. There are 40 sites, first come, first served at $18 a night, with a boat launch, fishing and hiking on a lake that sits 0.6 km from camp.
Stave Falls is 9.9 km away and the nearest fuel is 14.2 km, so fill the tank before the turnoff rather than after.
