About this site
SourceThree connected sub-alpine lakes make up Six Mile Lakes, and the recreation site sits right on the water near Nelson. A rustic 3 km nature trail runs the west side with views over the lakes, and its trailhead is just south of the site.
Four parties can camp, first come, first served, though the road in is a four-wheel drive proposition. Fishing is the other main use.
Willow Point is about 11 km away and the Kokanee Park Marina, about 14 km, has the nearest fuel, so top up on the way through. Kokanee Creek old growth is about 10 km off, Crusader Cabin about 12 km, and the Nelson and Kaslo trail network, about 18 km away, runs to 226 trails.
