About this site
SourceKokanee Creek Provincial Park spreads four campgrounds along more than a kilometre of sandy beach in the West Kootenays, with a creek canyon, old-growth cedar and grand fir, and a spawning channel where you can watch the kokanee run from a viewing platform.
Across the park there are 189 sites; some take reservations and the rest are first come, first served, all on paved roads. Fire pits, pit toilets and drinking water are standard, and there is a boat launch, a visitor centre, hiking trails, a playground and a group campsite.
Fuel is close at the Kokanee Park Marina, about 1.6 km out, and Harrop is about 5.8 km for supplies. Ross Lake is about 5 km away, and the Nelson and Kaslo networks, 226 trails between them, start about 18 km off.
