SourceUpper Canoe puts you on the Canoe River just outside Valemount, close enough that town is a short errand rather than an expedition. There is a place to put a boat in.
Camping is first come, first served on gravel, with no reservations.
Valemount is about 9 km away for groceries and fuel, and its 67 mountain bike trails start about the same distance out, which makes this a workable base for a riding weekend. Little Cranberry Lake is about 6 km from camp.
