About this site
Lower Campground has water at the centre of it, in the Port Alberni area: a boat launch, fishing and swimming, with fire pits at the sites and biking around. Access is paved.
Supplies are close for once. Great Central is about 4.8 km away and fuel at Western Nations about 3.5 km, so restocking is a quick run rather than an expedition.
Turtle Lake is about 4.5 km off, the Alberni Inlet Trailhead about 13.1 km, and the Funship trails about 11.6 km.
