About this site
SourceStamp River Provincial Park joins Stamp Falls and Money's Pool into one riverside park near Port Alberni, named for the pioneer who built the town's first sawmill. The main event runs late August into December: thousands of Pacific salmon, sockeye then coho then chinook, circle the pool below the falls before climbing the fish ladders, with lookout points along the river for watching them fight upstream. Black bears come for the same show.
About 23 sites are listed, a mix of reservable and first come, first served, on paved access, with hiking trails threading the forest and rapids.
Great Central is about 5 km away and the nearest listed fuel about 8 km, so supply runs are painless.
