About this site
SourceCallaghan Lake sits in the Coast Mountains in the Sea to Sky region, a lake with wetlands and smaller lakes scattered through the park around it. Canoeing and fishing are the summer draws, and the area is also used for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, telemark and ski touring, with Whistler Olympic Park in the same area.
The camping is rustic frontcountry, 6 sites, first come, first served, reached on a rough forest road. Pit toilets, fire pits and a boat launch are what you get, so plan on being self-sufficient beyond that.
Whistler is about 18 km away and a Chevron about 17 km, so make that stop before the turnoff. Telemagique Lake is roughly 2.4 km off, the Rainbow Madeley trail about 4.8 km, Alexander Falls about 8 km, and Whistler's 667 mountain bike trails about 18 km.
