About this site
SourceMuncho Lake Provincial Park wraps around 12 km of jade-coloured water on the Alaska Highway, mineral-tinted and cold, backed by the folded limestone of the northern Rockies. Moose and Stone sheep work the roadsides, and the lake holds lake trout, arctic grayling, bull trout and whitefish.
Camping splits between Strawberry Flats and, 11 km further north, MacDonald campground, with about 30 sites listed in total, a mix of reservable and first come, first served, on paved access.
Fuel is about 9 km away at the lodge; Toad River, about 30 km, is the nearest listed community. Provision like the north expects you to.
