SourceThe trail to Panther Lake climbs 3.9 km and about 335 m, roughly two hours one way, on a route worn deep by the miners and pack animals who used it in the early 1900s to reach the Bayonne and Sunshine mines. Anglers keep the tread open now.
Getting to the start wants four-wheel drive, and camping is first come, first served. Fishing and hiking are what people come for, and no facilities are listed.
Salmo, about 17 km away, covers both supplies and fuel, so handle them in one stop. Three Sisters Lake is about 1 km off, Curtis Lake about 4 km, and Char Creek roughly 10 km.
