About this site
SourceBobtail Lake sits in open Douglas fir forest near Vanderhoof, with the rec site strung along the shore. Swimming, fishing and a bit of hiking all start at camp. There is a boat launch too, though winter ice has damaged it and larger boats on trailers may not get in.
There are 17 sites, first come, first served, reached on gravel.
This is a long way from a store. Punchaw is about 26 km off and the nearest fuel is roughly 30 km away at Bednesti Lake Resort, so arrive with a full tank and everything you plan to eat. Lumpy Lake is about 8 km away if you want a second stretch of water.
