About this site
SourceCamping here is a set of natural pads in open Douglas fir on both sides of the road, just short of the bridge over the Blackwater River. The river is the setting and the reason to come: fishing, walking the bank, and moving water to sleep beside.
There are 6 sites, first come, first served, on gravel, with pit toilets, tables and fire rings. Hiking runs from here as well.
Supplies take planning. Punchaw is about 19 km away and the nearest fuel on record, at Sylvia's Cafe General Store, is about 35 km, so leave the highway with a full tank and enough food for the whole stay. Pantage Lake is about 9 km off.
