About this site
SourceDouglas fir and a small island give Hogsback Lake its character, and it is a protected archaeological site: this was a long-standing camping place for Carrier people. The lake takes swimming and fishing, and camp sits about 23 km from Vanderhoof on good roads.
The 10 sites are first come, first served, with gravel access, and the place suits small groups better than large ones.
Stoney Creek is about 21 km away and the nearest fuel, at Brookside Resort, about 17 km, so pick up gas there rather than counting on anything closer. McKay Lake is roughly 3 km off.
