SourceA sheltered bay near Burns Lake gives Maxan Lake calmer water than the open shore, and the campsites sit back in semi-open forest above it. Rainbow trout keep anglers coming back.
The 12 sites are roomy and first come, first served, with a gravel boat launch, two outhouses and gravel access. Bring a valid fishing licence if you plan to put a line in.
Rose Lake is about 11 km away and gas is about 18 km out, so plan a stop for it before you drive in. Bulkley Lake is about 8 km off, and Burns Lake, about 24 km away, has 47 mountain bike trails.
