SourceHighway 97 runs past Lac La Hache Provincial Park in the Cariboo, and the lake beside it has been a stopping point since the wagon road days, when fur traders, gold seekers and cattle ranchers all came through. The water still does the work here: swimming, fishing and boats off the launch.
The campground holds 80 sites on paved access, with fire pits, tap water and a sani-station, plus a self-guided nature trail. Across the highway, the day-use area sits on the lakeshore and has a playground.
The community of Lac La Hache is about 4.3 km away and a Race Trac the same distance, so fuel and groceries are a short run. Itautso Lake is roughly 1.8 km out if you want a change of water.
