About this site
SourceApodaca is a water-access park on Bowen Island, known in the Squamish language as Estítkw, on the traditional territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nations. Cliffs and rocky knolls sit behind a shoreline forest of Douglas fir, arbutus and shore pine, and the bluffs above the water hold a rare pocket of blue camas, one of the few places in the region where it grows.
There is no road in, so arrive by boat. A pit toilet is the facility on record, with swimming, fishing and hiking from the same shore and a boat launch in the mix.
The Bowen Island Gas Station is about 3 km away and Little Josephine Lake about the same distance off. The Headwaters Park trailhead is about 4 km out, the Sprockids Trail about 15 km, and the North Shore network, 347 trails in all, about 19 km away for anyone who brought a bike.
