SourceRum Island is an island camp in the Victoria area with 3 tent pads set about 150 m up from the beach, 2 pit toilets, and trees spaced for a hammock. An overflow spot on the tombolo takes the spillover.
Fires are not allowed anywhere on the island, including below the high tide line, so bring a stove and an extra layer instead. A fee applies from May through September.
Sidney, about 9 km away, is the place to sort out groceries and fuel before you go. Farther on, the Elk Lake trailhead is about 16 km out, and the 87 mountain bike trails around Victoria are roughly 27 km away.
