SourceYahk Provincial Park has been resting travellers since 1956, a 26-site campground in quiet, well-spaced forest beside the Moyie River, about 70 km south of Cranbrook and 15 km north of the Kingsgate border crossing.
Sites are a mix of reservable and first come, first served on paved access, with fishing, biking and a boat launch on hand. The park protects a short, scenic stretch of the river, and the area once supplied railroad ties to the Canadian Pacific Railway.
The town of Yahk sits 400 m away with services, tourist supplies and fuel, which makes this one of the least complicated stops in the Kootenays.
