About this site
SourceMonica Meadows is a trail to an alpine plateau in the Kaslo area, and the plateau itself is kept for day use because the ground up there is fragile. Primitive campsites sit at the end of the trail below the meadows, so you hike in with your gear and leave the plateau to walkers.
The access road wants four-wheel drive, and camping is first come, first served and undeveloped, with nothing on record in the way of facilities.
Meadow Creek is about 28 km away and the Meadow Creek Store, a similar distance out, is the closest fuel. The Macbeth Icefield is about 8 km off, Graymalkin Lake about 9.5 km, and the Lake of the Hanging Glacier trailhead roughly 11 km.
