About this site
SourcePoison Lake carries an unfortunate name for a good fishing and boating lake out near Anahim Lake. A boat launch gets you on the water, and the other Poison Lakes are less than a kilometre away.
Six sites, first come, first served, on gravel. It is simple camping, the kind you use as a base for days on the water rather than a destination in itself.
The draw nearby is Anahim Peak. A viewpoint and trail run up the volcanic cone a short distance from the site, and the mountain was a major obsidian source for First Nations. Anahim Lake, the community, is about 19 km away and is where to sort out supplies before you drive in.
