It is user-maintained and first come, first served, reached on gravel, with the lake right there for a swim after the drive.
Port Alice is about 12 km away and its fuel about 14 km, close enough for a mid-trip resupply. Two nearby stops round things out: Devils Bath about 7 km off and the Eternal Fountain about 9 km.
