SourceHeavy tree cover is the difference at North Star Lake. The sites sit in thick timber rather than out on open grass, which is worth something on a bright afternoon near Jaffray, and the fishing here draws a steady crowd.
There are 11 sites, first come, first served, at $15 a night, on gravel access. The launch suits canoes and car-top boats, and there is room at the sites for trailers and campers.
Jaffray is about 4 km off for gas and basics. The Silver Spring Lakes Trailhead is about 14 km away, and the Fernie Alpine Bike Park about 18 km.
