About this site
SourcePonderosa pine and bunchgrass, open and dry, is the setting at Johnson Lake in the Canal Flats area. Camping splits into two areas, one on the north shore and one on the south, with the water about 0.3 km from the site.
There are 5 sites, first come, first served, on gravel access, with a boat launch and swimming. Reaching the north area means skirting a gravel pit along its south and west boundary, and the lake edge there is marshy, which is worth knowing before you pick a spot.
Skookumchuck is about 5 km away for basics, and Wasa Lake Gas & Food, about 18 km, is the last easy stop for fuel.
