SourceWildflowers are the reason people make the trip up Idaho Peak. The meadows here put on one of the strongest displays in the Kootenays, and the Idaho Fire Lookout stands right at the site.
The road in is gravel and camping is first come, first served. Nothing is on record for amenities, so plan to be self-contained.
Silverton, about 4.5 km away, is the closest place for supplies. Bear Lake sits about 11 km off, Dennis Creek Basin about 10 km, and the Mary Simpson Cabin a shade further. The Whitewater Creek Trailhead is roughly 14 km away.
