SourceThe biggest of the Cartwright Lakes runs over a kilometre long, with mature pine and fir down to the shoreline. The water is deep and cold, which does not stop people swimming, and there is a launch for small boats and fishing from them.
Camping splits across two main sites, Cartwright West and Cartwright North, with 18 sites in total, first come, first served on gravel. The shore is about 0.3 km from the sites.
Brisco is the nearest town at about 12 km, and the Race Trac there is about the same, so fuel is not a problem in the Invermere area.
