SourceLightning Lake Recreation Site is a remote, open camp on the north shore of its lake near Merritt. Fishing brings most of the traffic, with hunting and snowmobiling also on the list of uses.
Four sites, first come, first served. The road in is rough and rated 4x4, and the site is small, so it works for truck campers and tents rather than anything you tow. It is user-maintained, so pack out everything you bring.
The lake is about 0.2 km from camp. Canyon Alpine is roughly 19 km away and the nearest fuel about 21 km out, so leave the highway with a full tank.
