SourceFishing and hunting bring most people to Robertson Lake, a small site in the Merritt area where the 2 camping spots are open and sunny with room for a bigger unit. The boat launch is rough but it works.
Camping is first come, first served, and the road in is rated four-wheel drive, so scout it before you tow anything up. The lake is right at camp.
Brookmere is about 17 km away and the Trading Post about 23 km, so sort out fuel before the turn.
