SourceGetting to Silence Lake takes a 4x4: the access is rough enough that this is not a place for a low car or a big trailer. What you get for the effort is a quiet lake with a boat launch and fishing, near Clearwater.
There are three sites, first come, first served, and no reservations.
Vavenby is about 23 km away and the Vavenby General Store, at about the same distance, is the closest fuel, so that is the stop to make. The Phillip Lake Trailhead is about 18 km off, Caligata Lake about 11 km, and Clearwater's mountain bike trails about 28 km.
