About this site
SourceThis is the close-to-town option around Prince George: Buckhorn Lake sits right beside the Willow-Cale Forest Service Road, with the water about 0.4 km away. Swimming and a launch for small car-top boats are the draw.
There are 4 sites, first come, first served, on gravel. Tables, fire rings and a pit toilet cover the basics, and the launch is unimproved, so bring nothing bigger than what you can carry down.
Prince George is about 24 km away, close enough that a supply run is realistic, with fuel nearer still at a Chevron roughly 17 km off. The city's 243 mountain bike trails start about 24 km from camp.
