About this site
SourceMabel Lake Provincial Park sits on a sandy stretch of shoreline in the Okanagan, with hemlock, red cedar and birch behind the beach rather than the drier pine forest further west. Fishing carries the place: several local derbies run here each year, and painted turtles turn up along Taylor Creek.
The park lists 114 campsites, some reservable and some first come, first served, reached on paved road. Pit toilets, potable water and fire pits are standard, and there is a boat launch, swimming, hiking and biking.
Supplies take planning. Silver Star Mountain Resort is about 23 km away and the nearest fuel, a Tempo, about 20 km, so arrive with a full tank. Baird Lake is roughly 12 km out, and SilverStar Bike Park with 54 trails is about 23 km.
